When designing a conveyor belt for a plant, more is possible than is often assumed. It is precisely in the smallest details that lies the hidden technology that makes the difference in the final performance of the conveyor belt for production. For overbelt magnets, you have very specific considerations to take into account.
This white paper can be used as a checklist to help you make the right choice when designing a magnetic conveyor belt.
Hotcleat® Magnetic conveyor belts
Overbelt magnets are used in machines as part of a larger process. Machinery manufacturers will build an entire installation, where an overhead suspension magnet is part of the completed installation. These complete installations produced by machinery manufacturers are delivered to end users. These installations are then, for example, used to remove unwanted ferrous metals. The purpose of the overbelt magnet is to ensure the cleanest possible end product, or to enable further processing without causing damage to machines downstream of the production process. Advantages of Hotcleat® magnetic conveyor belts:
- No loosening of cleats
- due to poor adhesion/handling
- by product, weather and/or temperature influences
- Less sensitive to small drum diameters
Limited thickness / width of the cleat profile results in less stress on the drums and reduced power consumption - Improved and extended service life / tool life of the entire conveyor belt and of the installation itself
- Environmentally friendly
- no industrial adhesives used
- Cost-effective for the end user by minimising downtime
