‘The Family feeling’

'A year ago I ended up at LBS as an intern while I was studying Finance & Control. The great thing was, I immediately felt involved with the organisation. I wasn't seen as an intern, but as a full member of the team. And that is how I always felt as an intern. You are given a lot of responsibility and they have definitely had faith in me from the beginning. Everyone helps each other and working together is an important goal at LBS. There is an open, informal culture and you have the space to make mistakes as an intern. For me, the 'family feeling' was an important reason to continue working here after my graduate internship.

The good relationship with my immediate coworkers and those in other departments creates a dynamic that I feel comfortable in. I'm part of a young, ambitious team that has similar interests. To me, it's really valuable that LBS gives you the space and safety to express who you are. You get the appreciation you deserve and that is why this is the right place for me.'

‘LBS GIVES YOU THE SPACE TO EXPRESS WHO YOU ARE’

Right now Marco has been working for us as a Business Analyst for almost a year. He is responsible for anticipating, recognising and translating the needs of the business into actionable solutions. He has also recently been able to expand his role into Finance. This makes it very versatile, which works well with his studies. 'This step is what lead me to work at our holding company in Arnhem 1 to 2 days a week. 'This makes it versatile and interesting. The great thing about LBS is that there is always space for personal development and growth.'

'I can also really tell that LBS is a true family-owned business. They are very involved with their employees. Upper management knows its people. You are definitely not just a number. Everyone knows each other by name.'

'It's nice to feel like you're important as an employee. That is why I think LBS is such a great employer. We do lots of fun things together all in a relaxed setting. Plus, there is all the room in the world for craziness or creativity. That approach radiates onto everyone in the organisation.'

Tip for the applicant

'Did my story spark your interest? If you speak with one of my co-workers for an introduction or a job interview, I would advise you to prepare well and ask questions. Dare and do, and then you can be sure there will be opportunities for you at LBS. I'm a prime example!'
